Just Thoughts for the day: Perspectives of the natural born disease in our daily lives known as envy.
I just want to talk about what we all know now as sins, sins that I know in every human being exists,
no matter who they are what race, country and religion they belong to.
As an observer to my self and to everyone around me and everyone else,
it is within us humans to say that these things are natural and has been a part of us from the start.
It may be unconsciously passive or passively active, we among our selves know about committing these so called "deadly mortal sins", and in this article I would quote and call it a "disease"
The moment we grew onto this world these "disease" like traits starts to kick in on us and appear,
As a baby, toddler, kid that grows up little by little our innocence around things that we call life or part of a humans daily life is being enlighten to us or we can also say shatter as a substitute for the word enlightening. I know that being enlightened or knowing the truth about something has its drawbacks, it can be good or bad. That depends on the perspective ones view among the situation he/she is within, and as we grew from a child this happens to us in a lot of different ways.
We as a child our curios human beings, we see, need, cry, get mad and agitated, feel hunger and a lot more as things much more complicated to say as we grew. And those things never did change until the day that we die.
Few of these "disease" that am going to talk about today that can appear to us as early as a child is a passively unconscious envy, as a kid who's exposed to the outside world, to different people and different things can be somewhat overwhelming and somewhat gives us the feeling of curiosity. Our little minds tend to explore and want things that we see, feel, touch and posses. Children oftentimes in their early stages not know anything in their life but to be "a child" they play, they eat, they want company from their parents, relatives and from anything that they know they find amusing and the feel happy about.
We also cannot deny that not all of the children knew and experience these things growing as a happy and complete childhood or has a very good child life, and that is where this "disease" kicks in.
Envy as a child is a small thing, natural and as I see... controllable to certain aspects, we as a kid have different methods, styles and culture growing up as individuals.
I'll start with the negative ones, some grew with a family broken no love is being given by both parents or we can say that love is insufficient, divide and bias, there are those who has financial problems and cannot provide what the needs of growing child, hereditary and unexpected diseases that comes with the family our early causes due to unhealthy way of living by the parents is also a factor some kids are born with terminal diseases and somehow shatters their life in an instant.
The positive ones has drawbacks too, being extremely rich, wealthy and highly disciplined can also start the lack of attention and love and cause a few comparison issues, due to either the family focuses more on business, wealth and future expenditures or reputation and one of the "disease" that most adults have is pride.
From my personal observation and experience in daily life, and socializing around other people I came across with, those kids that grew in those problematic instances has envy problems, those kids tend to want and need things that they not posses as they see others that have it but they cannot get from the people that is closes to them. I am sure that you know yourselves that the value of what closest, dearest to you no matter what they are specially if they are your family it is greater than anything above else that you can get, It gives you the feeling of appreciation, affection and love.
Those kids that experienced that harsh realities and what has become the natural flow of life to us human beings tend that their "disease" of envy escalate to certain levels. As a kid enters his/hers childhood and into the world of a teen and adult, they experience a lot more where they tend to compare and ask themselves as they know the fact of their differences, of "WHY?" questions that you all know yourselves has once asked on your life as you reached certain stages on your life where you start to feel the need of those what you see in other people, what others feel, what others have and so a long list of things of needs and wants will now start to pop up.
Having envy as part of our natural born disease of being a human being can cause two opposing and different effects to our lives, and to the people around us and how the things around us will start to revolve.
A few examples of these in daily events in our daily lives happens all over the places, all ages and other happenings that took place , currently taking place and what is currently to take place and here are some that I have personally experienced and seen and heard from others;
School Pageant:
Contestant 1. leads the like to vote system on facebook
other contestants who has at least not more than enough to compete with the leading starts spreading what we cannot tell either it is the truth or false that the leading contestant is cheating with a use of software.
Faculty:
A faculty member starts to feel unwanted unpopular or unattended, then starts to spread rumors about certain other people and co-faculties to other co-faculties and students just to get them to talk with this faculty person and gain more supports to strengthen the position this person has.
Classroom:
A students protest to a professor on why doesn't he get the attention or favoritism of the professor while he can do better than the rest of all his classmates when it comes to giving chances and opportunities.
These can be examples or cases of what we can say envy of attention, position or title, and mostly the side effect of this kind of attitude towards the things that humans envy the most is that thing we called "Crab Mentality" this often springs on people who have or most of the time closes their mind on things and looking at the bright side of things or seeing things in positive way, in short most of these people are pessimist toward something they want and need that they cannot attain.
Office:
A co-worker has been eying on a new cellphone that this co-worker just had, few days later and the phone just went missing. an investigation was made and this person who has been eying on the phone got caught and surrendered, when asked by investigators, the person replied: "I really like that phone so much, and I've been saving for it for like years then all of a sudden someone just got one! I just can't resist it!"
Village:
Friend 1 buys a new house and lot it was a dream house any man, family could want, then Friend1 starts to invite people and friends for the house blessing.
Few days passed and this other friend of his (we can call him Friend 2) bought the lot beside Friend 1's house, then he started to build a dream house identically to Friend 1's house, few more days past Friend 2 suddenly gave up the house because Friend 2 couldn't afford to own it anymore.
Local dormitory:
Person 1 is known as a fashion enthusiast, Person 2 is known as an out of fashion kind of person. One day Person 2 starts to put on clothes that Person 1 wears, starts with the make-up, then clothes, until the both of them look identically the same in wearing the outfit they have. thus leads to a confrontation of who looks better and what.
These are other cases of envy in things, properties and looks as we can see and all know it has its drawbacks when we can't help ourselves satisfying what we want and what we need because of envy.
Us humans when we want something, there is this thirst no matter how big or small it is for wanting what we want and needing what we need, that we can see from others, to feel like from others and satisfy us to getting on any form it maybe, feelings, material, attention and so on. Knowing it all, depends on how a person will try to attain those things that raises and classifies the trait envy as what we call a sin.
I personally think that envy is a matter of "wants and needs" the only questions that needed to be ask when we want to control it is,
* Do I really need/want this thing, person, place, attention, affection, and so on that i desire?
* Does the satisfaction I would get from attaining this needs/wants would make me a better person?
* Am I going to make a decision that is regrettable when I make my way in attaining it?
and I can give you an awful lot more of questions that you may need to ask yourselves, but all in all I just want to say that before giving in to envy lets go ahead and take our time to stop and think, ask ourselves these questions and more questions that you may think that suits your desire, satisfaction and needs.
